Microservices engagements
Our engagement model mirrors how architecture work actually lands in mature teams — short discovery, explicit artifacts, optional build pairing, and measurable exit criteria.
1 — Context intake
You share repository access or architecture diagrams, incident themes, and service inventory spreadsheets. We schedule a 90-minute workshop to confirm goals: faster releases, clearer ownership, or reduced cross-team blocking.
2 — Evidence gathering
We trace user journeys through services, measure fan-out in synchronous paths, and document schema sharing that blocks independent deployment. Tooling is yours; we read traces, logs, and CI history you already collect.
3 — Findings memo
Delivered within two weeks of kickoff for a standard review: ranked risks, candidate service cuts, data migration cautions, and test strategy for contracts. The memo is written for engineering leads and product owners alike.
4 — Remediation pairing (optional)
Time-boxed pairing on agreed items — for example introducing an outbox table, carving a read model, or hardening gateway timeouts. We commit in half-day increments with demoable outcomes per increment.
5 — Handoff
We close with an updated diagram, backlog items your team can schedule, and a short readout call. Further work is re-scoped as a new project rather than an open-ended retainer unless you choose the advisory pool described on the services page.
